DAY 1 Sept 1st, 2024

Arrival in Windhoek Airport (WDH) and transfer via private plane to Wolwedans Boulders Camp

Check in at Wolwedans Boulders Camp

From Boulders Camp you can explore the deep south of the Namib Rand Nature Reserve. Guided scenic drives and walking safaris.

DAY 2 - Sept 2nd, 2024

NamibRand Nature Reserve

Accommodation at Wolwedans Boulders Camp

The next three days we will spend exploring the vast, open spaces of the Namib Rand Game Reserve. Options for the day include a full or half day scenic drive, walking safari, 1 hour balloon trip (seasonally available), horseback safari or a village tour.

Activities

Wolwedans Scenic Drives
Scenic drives are enjoyed in open 4x4 safari vehicles accompanied by a knowledgeable guide. Various drive options are available and provide the perfect way to explore the Namib Desert.

Wolwedans Walking Safaris
Explore the beauty of the Namib on foot on a guided walking safari.

Included: All meals and house drinks. Activities as listed above.

DAY 3 - Sept 3nd, 2024

NamibRand Nature Reserve

Accommodation at Wolwedans Boulders Camp

Activities included: Morning and evening scenic drives | Desert Sundowners | “Antares” Naked eye star safari | Full day scenic safari | E-biking | Bushman walks

Additional cost, to be booked and organised in advance: Hot air ballooning

DAY 4 - Sept 4th, 2024

Wolwedans Dune Camp

Last day of exploration of this vast wilderness. Some of our options:

Guided Nature Walks: Explore the pristine desert environment on foot with a knowledgeable guide who can provide insights into the unique flora and fauna of the area.

Sundowner Drives: Enjoy an evening drive to a scenic spot to watch the sunset over the vast desert landscape, accompanied by drinks and snacks.

Stargazing: The clear desert skies make for exceptional stargazing opportunities. Learn about the constellations and celestial bodies from a knowledgeable guide.

Hot Air Balloon Rides: Experience the stunning desert scenery from above on a hot air balloon ride, offering a breathtaking perspective of the dunes and the reserve (availability may vary).

Scenic Flights: Take a scenic flight over the NamibRand Nature Reserve for a bird's-eye view of the desert's unique geological formations.

Photographic Tours: Enhance your photography skills with a guided tour focused on capturing the natural beauty and unique landscapes of the Namib Desert.

DAY 5 - Sept 5th, 2024

Sossusvlei

Accommodation at Dead Valley Lodge

Transfer via private plane (20 min flight) to Sossusvlei, arriving at our next camp in time for lunch.

DAY 6 - Sept 6th, 2024

Exploring the dune corridor

Accommodation at Dead Valley Lodge

Sossusvlei is where you will find the iconic red sand dunes of the Namib with its unique dunes rising to almost 400 meters and the highest in the world. 

Activities

Morning: Visit to Sossusvlei and Dead Vlei.

Morning: Visit Sesriem Canyon.

Afternoon: Sundowner tour

DAY 7 - Sept 7th, 2024

Transfer to Etosha National Park - the start of our safari adventure

Accommodation at Ongava Lodge 

We depart our camp and fly private to Ongava Game reserve, bordering the Etosha National Park. The flight will be around 1hr 30min.

Afternoon: Ongava Lodge - Camp Hide
The hide is a fantastic place to while the hours away up close and personal with wildlife slaking its thirst at the camp waterhole. This arid environment where little water occurs makes this a popular drinking spot for game.

DAY 8 - Sept 8th, 2024

Etosha National Park

Accommodation at Ongava Lodge 

We explore the wildlife and landscapes of the Ongava Game Reserve and Etosha National Park.

Activities

Morning: Excursions into Etosha National Park
Enjoy a game drive in Etosha, Namibia's prime savannah wilderness area.

Afternoon: Game drive on Ongava Game Reserve
The reserve is famed for its population of rhino as well as lion and other game such as antelope, including endemic black-faced impala.

Day 9 - Sept 9th, 2024

Etosha National Park

After a short 20-minute flight from Ongava, you'll land at Onguma's private airstrip, setting the stage for a remarkable day of adventure and relaxation in the African wilderness.

Onguma Bush Camp, nestled on the eastern border of Etosha National Park, offers a unique and luxurious safari experience.

Day 10 - Sept 10th, 2024

Etosha National Park

We explore with a game drive in Ongumain the morning and in Etosha in the afternoon.

Fly home
